The Microsoft ODBC Driver 17 for SQL Server is a single dynamic-link library that offers native-code support. It works with Windows, Linux, Mac, and virtual machines (VMs). This driver is available in several languages and can be installed silently.
On Windows, you can run a command-line script to install it. Once the installation is complete, the ODBC Driver 17 for SQL Server will show up under the Programs and Features control panel.
Microsoft SQL Server Client Version 2000 ODBC driver:
The Microsoft SQL Server Client Version 2000 ODBC Driver is typically installed with Windows. Once the driver is installed, you will need to configure it and register it.
Then, you can use the Microsoft SQL Server Client Network Utility to add a new SQL Server ODBC data source.
Before using the Microsoft SQL Server Client Version 2000 ODBC Driver, you should know that it is a deprecated version and does not support the new features of SQL Server. However, if you use a database that does not support these features, it should work fine.
Another option is the Microsoft OLE DB Driver for SQL Server. This driver has the advantage of being maintained and supported by Microsoft.
